A good idea in theory, but for anyone riding 18 km to work, losing access to showers is basically a hard stop. No shower = no bike commute.

So I switched to the train for a while. It worked, it was reliable, it was fine… but it wasn’t me. Train commuting is efficient, but it doesn’t give you that morning rhythm, that quiet stretch of movement before the workday begins.

The New Wardrobes

Now the renovation is finally done — and the upgrade is real:

Wardrobes doubled in size for both men and women

Lockers instead of the old wall hooks

More space for bikes, so parking doesn’t feel like a daily puzzle

It’s a huge improvement. There’s just one catch: the lockers are tiny. Summer clothes fit without issue, but winter jackets and thick trousers will require some creative folding. Still, it’s a massive step forward.

A New Commuter Bike

My old bike was 10 years old, but only spent the last 2 years as my commuter. Even so, the wear and tear added up — the rims were giving up, and the whole setup was ready for retirement.

So I upgraded to a fully equipped trekking bike:

Lights

Luggage rack

Mudguards

Everything you need for a clean, comfortable, all‑weather commute

It’s smooth, stable, and makes the ride feel like a small luxury instead of a daily grind.

Back in the Saddle

Rolling into the office again felt like returning to a routine that actually energizes me. The train was a good temporary solution, but the bike commute is the real deal — fresh air, movement, and a bit of quiet before the day starts.

I’m happy to be back on two wheels. Even if winter will turn the locker into a seasonal Tetris challenge.

I’m finally back to commuting by bike again — and it feels like reclaiming a part of my day that’s been missing for months.
