{"id":40,"date":"2019-09-12T09:59:40","date_gmt":"2019-09-12T07:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trailrunning.madmap.at\/?p=40"},"modified":"2024-11-15T09:32:16","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T08:32:16","slug":"running-in-the-heat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trailrunning.madmap.at\/index.php\/2019\/09\/12\/running-in-the-heat\/","title":{"rendered":"Running in the Heat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\n\nIf the thermometer is rising above 29\u00b0C, it&#8217;s getting harder to do anything outside and it&#8217;s even getting more dangerous&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what can you do to avoid taking unneccesairy risks and still have fun outside?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drink alot!<\/strong><br>This sounds obvious, but it&#8217;s hard to really monitor it and really drink enough. If you&#8217;re becoming thirsty it&#8217;s almost too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avoid direct sun<\/strong><br>Whenever there is a chance, do it like batman and stay in the shadows. If not, try to shield at least as much as possible from direct sunlight: especially your head!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avoid log-runs and intense workouts<\/strong><br>Be more flexible than your training plan: just don&#8217;t risk everything just to check your daily plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Plan ahead<\/strong><br>If there is no way around, like if you really need to participate in a race, try to think ahead and take all supplements you can get.
