They say the best medicine for a rough week isn’t rest—it’s movement.

After feeling completely off for the last seven days (one of those weeks where the legs feel heavy and the motivation feels even heavier), I finally decided to stop overthinking it. I didn’t need an epic mountain mission or a technical trail run; I just needed to get some air in the lungs.

I hopped on the mountain bike for a short, low-pressure spin around my hometurf. There’s something incredibly grounding about riding trails you know by heart. You don’t have to check a map or worry about the route; you just pedal and let your mind catch up with your body.

The ride was nothing record-breaking—just a quick loop to shake off the cobwebs—but by the time I hit the final descent, that “off” feeling had finally started to lift. It’s a good reminder that when you’re struggling to find your rhythm, sometimes the best way to find it is right out your front door.
